Tantalum capacitor with bipolar capacitor ?

in majority of cases you can replace them,the main deference with bipolar electrolytic capacitors, that tantalum capacitors have a lower ESR ( Equivalent Serial Resistance).They are used mainly, in circuit that timing is very precise.
