Tace and Pad SIze failure

Hi I done PCB for Higher amps rectifier...I,use default pad,parts,while schematic and routing..after getting from manufacturer pad size..and holes,trace very thinner and smaller..How set a trace size..while using large size for routing its getting bigger and bigger in eagle..but after generate gerber..it reduced to smaller..is any calculations..for trace and drill,pad size..

Tell Me global standrd for trace width...Drill are smaller after generate eagle..what is the procedure..to change drill size..

Mils are thousands of an inch.

trace size is 0.016,drill is 0.0236..here trace width is taken as inches or in mm...

Hi Thunaivendan,

Values you specified seems to be in inches. Multiply those values by 1000 to convert them to mils.
Trace width is 16 Mil and drill size 23.6Mil.

thank u shabu..what is default trace width drill for component,by this value 16mils,23.6mils very thin trace and small size hole..if i taken 6A diode,IRF540 fet what is drill size,i just now i change pad drill in library...for half bridge single phase board fix the trace width

Hi Thunaivendan,

Drill size, pad size should be determined based on the footprint information in datasheet.
Post the part number you are using.There is no specific trace width as standard.It is based on the requirement.
Follow your stackup. For 6A current you need to use solid shape instead of trace.IRF540 seems to be a SMD part not through hole. Post full part number.

23.6mil is 0.6mm - rather small for a 6A diode, I would think. If you find the package for your chosen component there is likely to be one in the Eagle libraries. For track widths, if you are conducting high currents there are plenty of current calculators out there - try a quick search.
