hyperterminal unreadable

Hi all,

I am trying to use hyperterminal to send AT command to my sony ericsson T610 phone. The settings are: 115200, 8, none, 1, none. The other baut rate gave me strange characters (unreadable characters). So, using the rate of 115200, my phone keeps on sending me weird reply. It just keeps on dumping characters onto the hyperterminal screen (never stop dumping)
I have tried perform the Master Reset, but it did not help.
I heard that many people have managed to send AT command to this phone via hyperterminal. Can anyone of you show me the steps to do so?

Best Regards,
Sam

Below are the the characters that the phone dumps onto the terminal:

Hi

Change the baud rate to lower speed

All the best

Bobi

Thank you, Bobi for your reply. I tried changing the rate to slower speed, but what I got was strange characters (something that you cannot read). Only 115200 rate gives me something readable. Do I need to install any driver for the serial cable?
Any other ideas?

Again, thank you for your kind reply,
Sam
