can any one suggest me that in system design for RF front architecture which filter is the best choise?
Butterworth or Chebeshev

regards
vivek

depends on how many elements you want to use.
chebyshev generally has better cutoff, but requires more elements for synthesis.

thanks.
can you describe in brief or can you give me some material on it

regards

the butterwoth is the very flat : with no ripples so if u need very flat filter and no amplitude variations then butterworth is the filter u need but this will cost u more area coz it will need more stages to get the same attenuation as chebychev

chebychev : gives ripples in the amplitude but with low order

khouly

I think it depends on your specification.
Butterworth has flat respond, linear phase, but poor rejection.Chebychev has good rejection ,but ripple in passband.

it is dependent on your requirement. For the same poles,
chebyshev: good selectivity, poor group delay
butterworth: bad selectivity, good group delay
