suse can not see the license in the server

failed to acquire calibre interactive license

my probem is that i installed Flexlm tool 10.8 in the server(windows server 2003)
and the license file also in this server
and in a client PC i installed windows xp and suse 9.1
the windows OS can see the license after put the two environment varibles
LM_LICENSE_FILE=1717@servername
MGLS_LICENSE_FILE=1717@servername
and the problem is in the suse 9.1 which i put the two environment varibles as this
export LM_LICENSE_FILE=1717@servername
export MGLS_LICENSE_FILE=1717@servername
in the bash
and i test the environments by env comand
and the port is free and i checked this by
net stat -a |grep 1717
and no return
and i can ping to the server by the IP just
i donot know why i cannot ping by the server name
and note that the server is connected to client by switch
i donot know why the license not seen

i install calibre in the client and give my this message when it is opened
"Failed to acquire calibre interactive license"


any one know the answer for this problem

i think that the problem in the network but i'm not good in network
