Could somebody suggest me a sensor to sense whether the dumper is carry load or empty.

We have a project in coal mines, and the 70ton dumpers need to be tracked and sensed whether it carries load or moving empty, we not interested in total volume of load but just need to know whether that dumper is loaded or empty

Length of the dumper will be 20feet approx.

Regards,
Livingston.

before 2 year i did a project for this application... even i can measure the weight also...
You can use a loadcell mounted on a lengthy stainless steel bar & you should weld this assembly @ the axial of the truck.
If it is important & need more detail contact me through email.... My location is coimbatore & you can make a call also...
