Suggestion for a s/w with easier editing options

Hi All,

I am using NG Wave software. This software is normally used to cut songs and increase the amplitude of a song (increase the volume of a song).
With this s/w i am capable of increasing the volume of the sound, but i am not getting a clear audio output.
Is there any other software which does contain both the features and increases the volume of the software
producing a better quality mp3 file.

Please help me in this.
