you could use a svideo type socket it is 8 pins
there are pcb mount types that have a low profile
i take it you want to plug in an out more than a few times
concider a rugged socket like this
Thanks those look good but I was just thinking, since space is a major issue, maybe I could do something like a PCI card slot, but alot smaller? Are there cables that can connect directly onto the pcb (both ends will be pcbs)
You don't really want to use a connector similar to a pci, as with only 2cm/0.75" there will be very little friction to hold the ends of the connector together.
Why not just use something like this,
That is a right angle connector, you can get straight connectors too. If you buy a female one for your other board you can clip them straignt together.
As long as you're not working with high frequencies it'l' be fine.
