i found that L298N has option for us to do current sensing of the motor coil (pin 1, pin 15) by connecting across the pins sensing resistors (Rsa, Rsb).
Have anyone tried this feature before, and for which purpose?

I intend to use this to detect stall condition of the motor when microstepping, but not sure how reliable it could be...:

The voltage at senseA and senseB will be fed into MCU's ADC inputs. From there, the MCU will try to detect based on this voltages.

Any comment on this method?

topic recall...
has anyone used L298N before?

actually the L298N should b used wth L297.... and the Vref (L297 pin) along wth the Rsense are used to determine the maximum current tht the motor will get...

Imax = Vref / Rsense

:)

sp
