I am working for technical support with a dealer comp which represent FPGAs and CPLDs .
I want to know about how these logic devices can be useful in controlling peripherals around it...

Hi,
What kind of peripheral do you mean? It's directly dependent on the kind of peripheral that you want to control, such as digital, analog or...?
BR

Depends upon your application a FPGA or ASIC can be targeted. You need to first define the application

Definitly CPLD and FPGA can be used to control the peripherals. CPLD and FPGA can be programmed to act like switches for controlling

Maybe you can image FPGA or CPLD as a ASIC with any digital logic. You can realize any function which can be realized by digital logic. Of course , you also need to consider the IO standard that FPGA or CPLD can supply.
