Hello all,

I am using high frequency probe to measure spectrum level on the spectrum analyzer. For accurate signal level measurement on the spectrum analyzer I would like to know the loss from this probe..but I am not sure how to take this ( or get the loss number) loss for a given frequency or a frequency range.

Can anyone comment please?

There's a gain error specification in the user's manual. Did you notice it?

If you want a tighter level calibration, you'll need signal generator. I think however that in many cases, the uncertainty given by the measurement setup will be larger than the contribution of the uncalibrated probe.

I am sorry but how can I extract loss information from gain error specification?

I'm not sure what's your understanding of the term loss in this regard.

Thanks for your comment!
