Some very useful SKILL tools for Cadence chip Layout

I found it very useful

Here are some very convenient layout utilities gathered in a [Utilities] Layout menu :

- Chip Slice : after setting the heigth and thickness of each layer (you can save them), you can get a layout view with a cross section of your layout with your usual layer colors.

- Gross Die : after setting the size of your chip, it will give you a wafer map in a layout view. (click on the origin point in an empty layout). In the CSW, you will also et the gross die, number of die per wafer, and different yield result based on different yield models.

- Pad coordinates : after setting the layers for the physical pad and the layer for their name, it will write in the file "myPadCoordinates.log" all the pad coordinates. you first need to copy all pad shapes to the toplevel, but you can do it easily with the next command : PAD or PAD = PAD

- Hierachical Layer Generation : based on the operation (AND , AND NOT , OR , XOR , GROW BY), you can easily generate a new layer at your level. The advantage against the original [Create][Layer Generation...] is that you can use several hierarchy levels and even set the number of level to use.

usage : in the CSW, enter : load("utilities_Menu.il")
open any layout, you will have a new menu [Utilities]

>>> If you also have some convenient utilities, welcome and thank you to share them !!!
