Hi,

I'm designing a PCB which should support 2.4GHz radio signal with SMA jack, I'm not sure what better to choose SMA jack surface mount or Through hole.

surface mount: better signal behavior (no stub).

Through hole: connected better to the PCB.

I'm afraid the surface mount can not hold a coaxial cable load on it and after a while it will break.

Anyone ?

Some surface mount SMAs also have very fine mechanical connection properties.I recommend you to use high quality SMD SMA for 2.4GHz
