Hello.

How to find the best simulation software tool for SI/PI analysis in PCBs among the several available options (Agilent, ANSYS, CST, Sigrity, Mentor, Cadence, etc...)? I would appreciate if anyone could share info and experience about this topic.

Thanks!

There are ample tools available in market. Selection mainly depends on your usage and budget. If most of your simulatiions are based on IBIS models and rarely involve Spice based modeling, I would sugget go for tools such as HyperLynx that offer both SI and PI modeling. But if your job involve very high accuracy modeling of multi-gigabit serial lines over backplanes and connectors, then Spice modeling would be the best suited soluition- go for tools from Ansys etc.,
