In the image attached, I understand that the left most VIA (looking like a '+' symbol) and the right bottom VIA are connected to the plane. My question is : Why is there a + symbol for the left most VIA?

Activity points 7,262 No its not a VIA, its a pad with thermal relief on it (way too much). If it was a via then it would have no need of thermal relief.
