[SOLVED] Simple VIA doubt : Different representations for Via in the same layer?

Hello Friends,

I am not a PCB designer.

In the image attached, I understand that the left most VIA (looking like a '+' symbol) and the right bottom VIA are connected to the plane. My question is : Why is there a + symbol for the left most VIA?
