Hello,

I have an existent 12v 20mA lamp driver with a momentary push button "on-(off)" type. The push button is closed initially , when pressing it, it goes to open circuit and the lamp lights.

I need to modify/rebuild this electronic circuit using the same button where it can toggle between on and off , start condition when the equipment powers up, the lamp shoud be off.

I could has changed to a latching mechanical switch, but no space there, have plenty of space inside the equipment and would like to use electrtonic circuit instead.
Any ideas ?
Attached is the circuit diagram.
Many thanks!
George

Hello,
Thanks, the problem here is that I have no access to the other pole of the push button switch that goes directly to ground on the chassis, I only hav eaccess to the other pole. searched for 555 circuits but did not find one whith a switch that goes to ground.

Use a flip flop like Andre suggested, is your best option.

Thanks all, will use the 555 ,will also have a power up reset circuit so that the lamp is always off when the equipment is powered up (other wise it will be undefined off or on).
