I am trying to use the Maxim MTK software to program a DS89c450. I just got the software from their site. It says it's version 1.9 Beta. Ooops.

I selected the closest device I found - the DS89c420. When I tried to program, it complained that the devices did not match. Yea.

Maxim support is slow to respond.

Any ideas ??

420 is not identical to 450.
the software was right - you have to use the exact part number.

I used older version of MTK with DS89c4x0 and never had problems with not matching device. With older version it was also possible to use any boudrate, not only fixed standard one, and have highest possible flashing speed. It is realy strange that DS89C450 is not included in device list of MTK.
