Hi All,

I'm a beginner in interfacing. I have three analogue signals (low frequency around 10 KHz) and I want to send them to a PC. What is the easiest and at the same time the cheapest solution for that?
Is it better to design a ADC board and send the digital output to Labview, or use something like micro-controller in between?

Cheers
Hadi

Hi Hadi,

You could use the audio card of the PC to input analogue low frequency and low voltage signals.

Hi Hadi,
My suggestion will be, buy the low cost NI USB series such as NI USB-6008 or 6009 Multifunctin DAQ. These DAQs has 8 analog inputs (12-bit, 10 kS/s for 6008, 14-bit, 10 kS/s for 6009). It makes your life easier and U can further explore the potential of LabVIEW, using these starter kits.

NI USB-6008 - 12-Bit, 10 kS/s Low-Cost Multifunction DAQ - National Instruments

(I am not working for National Instruments... dont consider this as advertisement :grin

Hi,
There are other vendors like Adlink, Advantech also providing the low cost products than NI. But you need to consider the reliability. You can very well design a Micro controller with ADC to get the Analog input, decode, send a serial data either through USB or RS232 and use LabVIEW in the PC to represent as front end user interface. But Micro Controller may have restriction in speed and synchronization.
