send sms using GSM modem and arduino uno

hi guys

im using a gsm modem sim340 connected to my arduino uno

Tx(pin1 of uno) to Rx
Rx(pin0 of uno) to Tx
common ground

im sure i will not need a max232 chip between the modem and arduino because the modem uses 5V and so does the arduino.

can someone help me by providing me with a demo code, which wil enable me to send an sms please
