Selecting a good CPLD

Hello everyone,

I am currently doing a project for robotic application. It involves in designing a "relative positioning system" - using the principle similar to that of GPS - difference being that I will be using repeaters (433 MHz transceivers instead of satellites)

In order to calclulate the distance between my robot and the repeater(3 or 4 in number), I need to calculate this using an algorithm and using a CPLD.

Some main requirements that should be supported by my CPLD:

1. i2c support,
2.Should cost less & consume less power.

I need to implement my algorithm on this and I dont know how may macro cells I will need ?

I have had a brief look to the Cool Runner 2 CPLD from Xilinx, Is this a good choice ? Or are there better ones for my requirement ? Please help me out...

Many thanks in advance

Best Regards
