Hi all,

consider the following problem:
You have a measured s1p s-parameter file for an antenna - and there is only mag(S11) and ang(S11) given, of course. You want to somehow implement the antenna characteristic into a simulator, such as @DS to simulate the receiver path. How would you do it? Is it possible to covert the s1p file to s2p file for an antenna? What assumptions for the other ''virtual'' antenna parameters would habe to be done?

Regards,
dursun

use the touch stone file format in the ADS to do the simulation, and use one port element of the ads, that is all

it's not that easy - you have to use 2-port touchstone format to be able to connect the source at the input of the antenna, because you need to supply the signal somehow, and to be able to connect the rest of the receiver path after the antenna.
If you use the 1-port touchstone, the you are unable to do that.
Anyway, I solved it by creating a filter with S11 of the antenna and an inversed characteristic for the transmission. It's not perfect, because it doesn't account for the losses, but it can be used for some general simulations.
