Role of Capacitor connected between cathode and Reference of TL431 ?

Hi all ,

I am not able to understand the role of CAPACITOR connected between Cathode and Reference Pin of TL431 .
Is it used to improve high frequency switching ???

Please help me out !!

I'dve thoght its purpose was to increase noise immunity, to dampen switching noise from the rest of the circuit.
 

but how ...
Please explain me the whole process ..
 

Not only noise it is for high speed switching also.
