Hi all,

What kind of RFID tags are used for the tags used in electronic toll collection in toll roads.?

What is the operating frequency of the tags?

cheers,

thanks davenn for your advice

What type of tags, (I mean active, passive, semi-passive...) are used in Australian toll roads?
What I can see from web is most of the tags are passive & being powered with the toll post reader device.

I'm wondering, can they grab enough power to transmit the ID, give a beep within the short time (when passing toll post with 100 km/h or more)?

cheers,

The RFID used for Road toll collection is usually a UHF chip operating on around 980 Mhz and will be a passive tag but capable of read and write at very high speeds even more than 100Kmph speed of the vehicle.
