hello, i'm a bit confuse with this things. does the rfid reader can detect any frequency of tag? for example, if the reader frequency is 2.45ghz, can it detect the tag with 125 khz? tq

Normally no, but when you make a hybrid reader that has two readers combined, it can. As 125 kHz is far away from 2.45 kHz, one can build two antennas together with two readers in one enclosure to detect both 2.45 GHz and 125 kHz tags.

2.45 GHz readers are all so called back scatter principle readers, so the tag responds at the same frequency as is transmitted by the reader. You may search for backscatter and load modulation.

Each RFID system uses a specific frequency and protocol. The systems are generally not interoperable. At best, RFID readers are supporting multiple standards in a frequency band.

so, that means 2.45ghz reader only read data from 2.45ghz tag? but if the reader have two antenna or dual band freq antenna, then it can detect more than one frequency tag?

so, that means 2.45ghz reader only read data from 2.45ghz tag?

As FvM previous stated, a specific RFID reader can only read a tag of a specific frequency and PROTOCOL or encoding scheme.

For example HID tags use a proprietary protocol/encoding scheme which can generally only be reader by HID readers.
