RF signal from drain to source

hello friends

can i pass and stop an RF signal from drain to source by just make gate on and off.
 

No,because is going to affect the frequency of your signal but you can use analog swich like CD4016, you can refer to it's datasheet for more info.
 

can you explain how it will effect the signal. i mean it will just be working as a simple switch
 

Hi,if you are using a mosfet as a follower the gate has to be saturated for it to act as a swich,their will be a voltage drop which will affect the amplitude of the signal.
 

There are a lot of microwave switches that are made with fets as the controlling element. With the right fet, the parasitic capacitance is not a big problem to 18 GHz.
