resistors.......help me

why do we get resistors in these peculiar values like 5.6k ,2.2k,4.2k etc and why not integral values?????:?:
 

Hi :

If your design is optimum & the function of your circuit is right, that is ok !!

When you decide the resisters value, you need to care about the value relation of accuracy between each resister.

The ancient 20% resistance series starts at 1.0, and each subsequent value in the series is roughly 20% larger than the previous value (rounded off slightly). The 10% series includes new values halfway between the 20% values (rounded off slightly). Similar for the 5% series.
