I am in Taiwan. I want to buy a cheap laptop with average features. Could anybody suggest me a model and say me how much i should pay?

A friend bought a good laptop for about $650 here (Vancouver, Canada). I know HP is selling its laptops for about $500 each. Not a bad one as well
