Pilkar's tutorial is exactly the stuff I was looking for
It is focussed on concepts rather than math
Great starting point to understand wavelets.

Hi,

You can also go to www.aleria.net, click in ENG (to open up the English version) then use the search facility on 'wavelet'. I believe there are around 7-8 books there. There's 1 ed2k link, 2 ftp links and 1 http link for each book. Just make sure you use a FTP download utility with PASV mode disabled, as last I checked only one of the ftp links was working.
It's a great site though (for other books too).
