i have a connection from an IC pin to relay that switches between an ANALOG and DIGITAL signal.
the analog signal (relay to analog pin) requires thick traces (~40 mils) and the digital signal (relay to digital pin) requires ~8 mils.

my question is:

what would be the recommended trace width to route the connection of the signal from the IC pin to the relay pin? to which layer should it be routed, ANALOG or DIGITAL?
