Sorry for the ambiguity but is there any relationship between a radios reciever receiving high data rates and the receivers performance as filtering is concerned?

I know that high data rate reception is related the signal to noise but is there also a relationship between high data rate and the receivers filtering?

It depends on the modulation type, but high data rate also implies more care has to be taken about amplitude and phase flatness, and the correct shape to the group delay. The reason is that in the time domain, those unflatnesses give rise to ringing and other distortions that cause intersymbol interference, and hence bit errors.
