Relation between clock slew rate and rise time

Hi
Is there is relation between slew rate and rise/fall time of a linear signal.
In reference clock AC timing specification of a datasheet of a switch, Minimum slew rate is 0.7V/ns whereas in the crystal oscillator datasheet maximum rise/fall time is 6ns (20% to 80% of 2.5V). Can i use this crystal oscillator for this switch.

No you can't. The slew rate of crystal oscillator is 0.33V/ns which is less than the minimum slew rate of the switch.
 

slew rate is a slope of the signal going up or down expressed in V/us (rate of change). Rise time is only for known amount of volts going up (time for 0->1).

We use slew rate when voltage doesn't have any particular range of interest, and we just want to know how fast is it changing. Another case might be when something depends, by definition, only on the rate of change - like transmission line effect.

Rise time and fall time are used mostly when voltage range is already defined like 5V logic or 3.3V logic etc.

Slew rate (as well as rise or fall time) can be applied to any analog quantity like current, resistance, light etc
