Hello All,

I am trying to calculate and predict the power I would expect from a radar system I am working on. Basically, the Radar is a step CW radar. I tried to use to center frequency in the Radar equation to try to approximate the signal I would see for various target RCS at different distances. Would using the center frequency in this case by a good approximation?

Also, if I am looking at a target, for example at 1km away, I would need to do an FFT (say 45k sampling rate, 1000 points between the swept freq range, and 4096 fft points), and look in the signal power vs. range. Now, the target appears at 1km away, I can see a peak. But how is the peak power related to my calculations using the Radar equation? The ADC is a 16 bit, not sure if this info is relevant...

TIA for any help.

Regards,
-K
