(chips too) the surface tension of the solder paste holds them onto the board and pulls them onto the pads.

DONT FLIP IT IN THE AIR HAHAHAHAHAHHhhahahahha oh my.... well you still cant do double sided on it!!!! you can with a toaster oven reflow controller. but with all respect, a hot plate is a cool idea and a cheap solution too. but i love my toaster oven though. i can do double sided SMD with same temp solder paste!! yah i only use a frying pan for breakfast too hahaha i just finished a 6 layer double sided board with lotsa 0.5 pitch parts!!! its all in the stencil and the amount of paste..
