other than the sallen-key filter, notch filter etc i found that the book that i have specified a lot of filter names but said them to be complex.... in which book can i find a complete reference to filters...

"Filter Theory and Design: Active and Passive" by Abel S Sedra and Peter O Bracket is excellent. ISBN 0-916469-14-2. It's out of print, but readily available used.
