HI,

I have doubt on ref pin used in AD9833 waveform generator chip.

with a 1 MHz clock rate, the AD9833 can be tuned to 0.004 Hz resolution. To achieve this can i directly connect REf pin of AD9833 chip to ARM microcontroller oscillator pin.Is is possible? If yes please help me to overcome with this issue.please reply as soon as possible.

Thank you....

This is the link for ad9833 chip

If by 'REf pin' you mean the clock input, theoretically you can but there are things to consider:

1. Does the ARM oscillator pin provide enough drive current to feed the AD9833?
2. Does the loading of the AD9833 pull the frequency of the ARM oscillator?
3. Does the addition of extra wiring/tracks upset the operation of one or maybe both devices.

All answers depend on the existing circuit and how you adapt it to drive the AD9833.

Brian.
