Hi

I need a way of reading and writing data to a am29f080b flash chip. I need either a schematic or just a hint to where i can buy a cheep device for this purpose.

I have been looking at this schematic:
h**p://www.devrs.com/e/files/flash3.gif

But i dropped it after realizing that it need 20 minutes to write a 4mbit chip.

I would prefer some thing with a USB or serial interface, but any thing is okay.

Best regards
Allan W. Nielsen

Probably the long time is not due the parallel port, the process itself to program the memory should be the problem since you need to put the data and then send a programming pulse of certain duration.

Check memory specifications after decide to search for a serial or USB.

In fact paralell communication should faster than serial (RS-232).
