Questions about using CAN nodes

hello to all
iam using a CAN controller with AT89s51 with 2 nodes.Can any one help me that

*how many possible messages can sent through a single node

*how to set priority among different messages

*how to check wether the CAN bus is available for transmission

*how to load datas in Transmit buffers
