I have some questions about native VLAN in the 802.1q trunking protocol :-

1- Why native is used , what is its adventage ?

2- When configure it on Cisco router , Will it be on physical interface or subinterface? and Why ?

3- How Non 802.1q devices still able to communicate with each other on same ethernet through a 802.1q enabled switch ?

I need detailed & reliable answers , as i read many topics on native Vlans and i still confused !!!

Thanks
