Hi gurus,
Am new to this groups and novice in hardware stuff.
I found that
If (in protected mode) A20 gate is used to access odd megabytes.
and is used to reset the cpu so that we can go back to real mode from protected mode.
In another article i read that Triple faulting also used to reset the cpu.
1. if present day OS boots at protected mode means what is the need for realmode ?
2. I want to know whether modern systems are using the A20 gate to reset
the cpu or triple fault
3. any new ideas to get rid of this a20 gate ?
4. is OS relay on BIOS to enable A20 gate ?
