question about pot meter

Hi all,
Does anyone know if connecting a resistor in parallel with a pot using A and B terminals, will it be able to vary from 1ohm to total parallel resistance?

for a linear dual gang pot, say the total parallel resistance of the top resistor is 100ohm and the bottom one is 200ohm.
When the top one is tweaked to 30ohms, will the bottom one be 60 ohms?

Do you know the formula for a resistor parallel circuit? Just sketch your circuit and calculate.

ok, is there a better way of decreasing the maximum value of pot with a linear increment?

I fear, there is no way. Adding parallel resistors (between wiper and one or both end terminal) will create a nonlinear characteristic in any case.
