Hi,
I am a CompE major student and would like to develop a Gerber viewer for my project. There are quite a fee Gerber viewers in the market, but I want to make a simple Gerber viewer reading the Gerber files and producing files for each layer.
I want to build the tool using C++.
Before I start I want to know what would be the better software to build a tool that would read the Gerber files and produce files showing layer by layer.
As CyberRat alluded too, there are a lot of good free gerber viewers out there, but they all of their little quirks. If you could combine all of the good features from each one, you could get a pretty good viewer (Same for PCB Design software).
GC Prevue is pretty good and if there is a free version of GerbTool (Which I think there is) that is also a nice tool
subspace,
you not find a good free gerber viewer on line ? I think it's very strange !
Please visit Pentalogix site and look well, you can download a Good free gerber viewer.
Moore good viewers exist, depend only to preference, for example you can try GC Prevue.
