Quartus Ver 4.2 & Nios 3.2 shell - Compiling error !!!!

Hi all,

A urgent help required

I have those two installed in my pc which has a Windows Vista enterprise OS.

Now when i try to execute the nios shell, the following error occurs in the dos window and it doesnt take me to that [SOPC builder]$ prompt

Hi,

You use a very old Quartus version. I do not believe that version is supported on Windows Vista.

I too guessed whether that could be a problem, thats why i mentioned about the OS

yes, i am using an old version because my nios hardware is an old one. so the only option is to switch to windows xp. is'nt it?
any thing apart from that. ?
