Hi,
I want to parallely connect two trimmer capacitors to get a high capacitance. I want to know whether the final Q is still equal to the Q of each cap.

Thank you.

If parallel connection does not introduce additional series resistance, then (assuming that the original capacitor had capacitance C, series resistance R, and thus quality factor Q=1/(omega*R*C)), the series resistance of the "super"-capacitor (i.e. two original capacitors connected in parallel) is R'=R/2, and total capacitance is C'=2C, so its quality factor Q'=1/(omega*R'*C')=1/(omega*R*C)=Q is the same as that of the original capacitor.

Thank you so much.
