project on watt meter - LCD to serial

LCD to serial

Hi everyone. I had implemented a project on watt meter. Currently I am using 4 data buses to display characters on the LCD. But at the same time I also need a serial data out of the PIC. Which method is preferable? Using serial routine in assembly coding or parallel in serial out register?

Anyway, I really really need someone that can help me for the assembly coding....
If you can help, please do so as I really need some guidance on this.
