A particularly convenient option related to computer vision and machine learning is to do something related to the Viola-Jones algorithm. A huge amount of source code is available from the OpenCV library and the methods are well documented online. The algorithm is a few years old now, but it would still be my recommendation.

This subject comprises a wide variety of different applications mainly based on classification or recognizing scope.

I think you firstly need to decide what exactly the feature want to achieve, and further select the most appropriate algorithm to be employed.
