I repair many embedded Hardware in a production with Pic and other Micro controller. my questions is:
does the Pic xxfxxx use the external or internal osc. to flash the pic program in the pic ?

why I am asking is can the external osc. or Crystal be the reason that the pic can not be programed.
I have to this day not confirmed that this have influent to program it, but I have sometimes repaired bad Crystal og osc. to get the program to run.

I know how SPI and Jtag. but I don't know if it work the same way with flash program device.

The clock is provided by the programmer (e.g. PICkit3) when programming, so no other clock source is required.

Debugging (for those PICs that have debug capability) requires that a valid clock source be configured and working, but programming is much easier.

.... unless you are using a bootloader to program your PIC, in which case correct clock configuration is essential.
