camtastic bmp import

hi
does someone know a program to convert the files gerber to file powerpcb?

i have not seen that .. i have seen utility to convert bmp (bitmap) to protel file .. but it could be way fory you .. just save gerber as bmp (layer by layer)
and convert .. maybe you can import protel file ;0))

If I'm right PCAD's Camtastic can do that.

gerber to powerpcb is possible but u will lose some paramters durring conversion process
u can use cam350 for conversion by creating netlist and so on....
but it is not a good suggection since chances of hidded error

If you want any of layer as a reference for routing . you can convert ther gerbr in to dxf using"GerbTool" and can import as dxf.

Most CAM tools capable of grouping objects to create parts can do this.

First you load gerbers & drill
Define parts etc
Then extract netlist

For Power PCB you would be best to use a Gerber editor which will export a native PPCB file such as Cam350 from Downstream.

You will not find any free veiwer I know of that will do this easily.

i would like to import a gerber design into eagle. has anybody done this with success?
