I wonder what type of embedded microprocessors or microcontrollers are used in the most land-line telephone sets available in the market these days ! .. I can see many telephone sets with considerable amount of memeory and good software with very affordable price ! ..

Can anyone guide me to the various microprocessors used in developing such systems that allow them to be that cheap ?
