have got an SMPS 14 Volts 550ma and I need to charge a 12V LEad Acid battery with that. The company claims it has an in built cc in it.So when as the potential difference is there it gives full current to the battery and as the potential difference lowers down the current is reduced.

Now when I charge my 12v 1.3 ah battery with this and when the battery is at say 10 volts all the 550ma charge strts pumping into the battery which is undesirable.

Now if i add a diode and a resistance to limit my current to 200ma value voltage drops across the resistor so battery dosent gets charged.

Please suggest me the most suitable and economical way out from this.
